Queens Platinum Jubilee

Her Majesty the Queen will be celebrating her Platinum Jubilee over the weekend of June 2nd -June 5th, divorcing it from the actual date of Feb 2nd because that is the date her beloved father died in 1952.

We have been awarded an extra bank holiday on June 3rd; the June 2nd date is the Spring Bank Holiday deferred. A four-day bank holiday weekend results.

We should like to celebrate her Jubilee as a Church. Her Majesty made a promise upon accession, that whether her life be long or short, it will be dedicated to the service of our Nation. We can all witness that she has kept her promise. We want too to celebrate that as Head of the Church she has maintained a steadfast faith, an example to us all.

To celebrate, we should like to invite the local community to a street style party at the Church and invite all in the Church, who feel able, to come together and form a working party to establish plans and take up tasks to enable this to happen.

Following much thought. planning and prayer and much hard work we were able to put into action Ken’s vision and we opened up the grounds at the rear of the church to our church friends and our community and a good time was had by all!
