First, a definition: The Oxford English Dictionary goes into some lengthy explanations of the various meanings, so I’ll ‘cherry pick’ for the sake of brevity! So: an instance of reflecting, the process of being reflected; reflected heat, light, colour or image. Reconsideration, an idea arising in the mind, deep thought.
As with much of the English language, an amalgam of much of the foregoing gives us a sense of how we understand the word!
Many of you know that I am interested in astronomy, (that is stars, planets etc, not signs of the Zodiac!) When you look up on a clear night, all the stars that you can see are reflecting the suns light! During late July and into August, two planets have been clearly visible without telescope or binoculars, namely Jupiter and Saturn. Jupiter being the larger, brighter image.
