Heavenly Father, we long for peace 

‘Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.’ (John 14:27 NIV)  

We thank you that Ukraine is filled with brothers and sisters that know and love you. We long for peace to overrule this nation and to be known in the hearts and lives of all those afflicted by war. And we pray that the people of Ukraine may be safe, secure and know your peace on earth. 

Heavenly Father, we pray for reconciliation and an end to war 

We pray for global leaders who have the power to start wars and to stop wars. We pray that the decision makers will hear your voice through the loud clammer of the international stage. We pray for a spirit of reconciliation and for cooperation and a peaceful resolution. 

Heavenly Father, we cry out for comfort 

We pray for church leaders in Ukraine and the surrounding countries who carry a heavy burden, leading and comforting their flocks. We pray for parents protecting their children as they flee or stay in devastated cities. We lift up to you those who are homeless, injured, bereaved, without food and warmth and safety. With your supernatural love, protect, sustain and comfort all those affected by the chaos and devastation that war inflicts. 

Heavenly Father, we ask for resilience and protection 

We pray for our mission partners, NGOs and the many volunteers in Ukraine and surrounding countries. We thank you for their tireless work, bringing humanitarian aid to the biggest movement of refugees since the last world war. We pray for protection on key routes, that supplies will get through and refugee corridors will be safe passages. We ask for resilience and steadfastness, protection and safety, for both refugee and aid worker.  

Heavenly Father, thank you that you rule with sovereignty and strength  

We thank you that in every situation, every dark moment, you are active and working among us. Even in bleakest times we trust in your sovereignty and strength. You said, ‘in this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.’ (John16:33 NIV) We embrace the fact that this world and the troubles we face have been overcome, and rest in the knowledge that you have the power to move in any and every situation. We cry out for an end to this crisis, trusting in your promises of hope, love and peace. Amen.
